Why NexGen
Architecture-led, not staff augmentation.
Most SI engagements assign whoever is free that week and rotate people through your project as it runs. We do it differently: a senior architect is named to your project at the start and stays accountable for the design and the outcome all the way through, not a rotating cast of contractors billed by the day.
AI-native delivery.
On most projects, AI is a tool someone reaches for occasionally. On ours, it’s built into every role. Architects, engineers and testers each work alongside an AI agent that takes on the full weight of their work, not just the repetitive parts, almost like every person has the world’s smartest assistant carrying their workload. People stay in charge of every decision; the AI is what makes the pace possible.
Governed by design.
Speed usually comes at the cost of oversight. Ours doesn’t, because every stage of the project has a checkpoint: a named person reviews the work before it moves forward, and that decision is recorded at the time it’s made. Nothing reaches your systems without someone’s name against it.
Evidence, not status decks.
Instead of a weekly slide deck telling you progress looks fine, you receive the real project documents as they’re produced — requirements, designs, test results and sign-off records — delivered into your own systems so your team can check them at any point, not just at the end.
Outcomes, not hours.
We agree upfront exactly what “done” looks like for a piece of work, and you pay once it’s delivered and proven, not for the hours or days it took us to get there. If something takes longer than planned, that’s a cost we absorb, not one we pass on to you.
No channel conflict.
If you already work with another consulting firm, we’re not here to replace them. We’ll deliver alongside your existing partner under their engagement, or step back entirely, so bringing us in never puts a relationship you already have at risk.
WHERE THE RISK ACTUALLY SITS
Onboarding & KYC. Credit decisioning. Transaction monitoring & KYT. Fraud & due diligence. Platform builds & integration. Document automation with RPA and AI.
Modernising legacy systems
CIOs and Enterprise Architects
You need to modernise systems the business depends on, but no one has a complete picture of what connects to what.
We map the full estate, then design and build the target platform. Every architect and engineer works alongside an AI agent carrying their share of the work, while our architects own every design decision and check it before it moves forward.
Delivered a live specialist mortgage lending platform connecting 15+ systems, including core banking, payments and credit bureaus, from scratch.
Replacing outdated connections
Integration owners
Old integration platforms (older MuleSoft versions, Tibco, iWay, BizTalk) need replacing, and open-ended day-rate quotes make budgeting hard.
We move each connection onto modern MuleSoft and test it against the old one before calling it done. You're charged per finished piece of work, not by the day.
Same lending platform above: every one of the 15+ connections tested to behave like the system it replaced.
Automating compliance operations
Delivery and compliance leaders
Onboarding, KYC checks, transaction monitoring and fraud reviews are still partly manual, and regulators expect a fast, defensible answer.
We automate these workflows with AI, and route every exception to a named person for approval, not a black box.
Built an automated document-verification workflow for a global payments company (proof of concept), replacing manual re-checks with AI and RPA (robotic process automation).
Moving AI from pilot to production
Technology leaders with a stalled AI pilot
An AI pilot worked well in a demo, but risk and compliance won't approve it for production use.
We rebuild the same idea with the architecture and approvals your risk team needs to sign off on it.

Where this shows up day to day
Roadmap Component Key
01 — Discover, the ask
Discovery agent
AI runs this stage: Reads your systems and data end to end and produces the full current-state picture, carrying that entire stage of work.
Approval gate: Enterprise Architect or Head of Risk. Their sign-off is timestamped and logged before the next stage opens.
02 — Design, architecture
Design agent
AI runs this stage: Works through the complete target architecture and every realistic option, not just the obvious one.
Approval gate: Chief Architect. Their sign-off is timestamped and logged before the next stage opens.
03 — Build, code and configuration
Build agent
AI runs this stage: Writes and tests the code and configuration for the whole scope in parallel, not one piece at a time.
Approval gate: Engineering Lead. Their sign-off is timestamped and logged before the next stage opens.
04 — Verify, test evidence
Test agent
AI runs this stage: Checks the new system’s behaviour against the old one on every interface, not a sample of them.
Approval gate: QA or Compliance Lead. Their sign-off is timestamped and logged before the next stage opens.
05 — Release, to production
Release agent
AI runs this stage: Prepares the complete release and rollback plan for the whole change, ready to execute.
Approval gate: Your own named sign-off. Their sign-off is timestamped and logged before the next stage opens.
06 — Operate, run and improve
Ops agent
AI runs this stage: Watches the live system continuously and prepares every anomaly for review, not just the obvious ones.
Approval gate: Ops Lead. Their sign-off is timestamped and logged before the next stage opens.
PROVEN WHERE REGULATORS WATCH
UK Specialist Mortgage Lender
15+ systems connected · 16 weeks from kickoff to live · 60+ named approvals logged · 100% of milestones accepted before payment
A newly licensed specialist mortgage lender had regulatory approval to start lending and a launch deadline, but no platform to originate or service a single loan.
In 16 weekly sprints, our architects and engineers, each working alongside an AI agent carrying their share of the build, designed and built the full loan origination and servicing platform on Salesforce Experience Cloud, connecting the customer portal, core banking system, payment rails, credit bureau feeds and property valuation providers in real time.
The lender's own risk and technology leads hold the complete architecture set, an integration document for each of the 15+ connected systems, and the test evidence behind every one.
Every one of the 60+ approvals carries the name of the internal lead who signed it off, meeting FCA and GDPR expectations from the first week of build, not retrofitted before an audit.
WHERE TO START
Modernisation Assessment
"Nobody can tell me cleanly what depends on what in our estate, and the board wants a modernisation plan."
A scoped map of every system: what's highest-risk, what to modernise first, and roughly what it will cost, priced as low as the scope allows and agreed with you before we start.
Typically 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the size of the estate. No commitment to build afterward.
Greenfield Delivery
"We're launching a new platform, product line or licence, and building it from a blank page."
A governed build from architecture through to go-live, with a named approver at every stage and the evidence trail delivered alongside the platform.
First working software from the first sprint, not the usual multi-year programme.
Advisory & Transformation
"Our AI pilot impressed everyone in the demo, and we have no idea how to get it past risk and compliance."
Hands-on advisory that rebuilds the same idea the governed way, with named approvals and evidence, so it can actually reach production.
Scoped to your specific blocker, usually starting within days.
